My daughter, now entering high school, was fortunate to experience Carolina Mountain Montessori from 3 to 6 years of age. After two years of loving what we witnessed in this school, we chose to keep her there for kindergarten. During that year, her love of learning ignited under Miss Cathy's guidance. I believe this foundation gave her an advantage when entering first grade, as she was noticeably ahead. Beyond academics, the atmosphere is caring and artful. The classroom and playground are beautiful spaces to explore and grow in. If you want your child to love nature, geography, reading, and art, this is the place for you!

I have had the pleasure of sending two of my children to Ms. Cathy and I could not be more pleased. The girls are typically up and ready in the mornings without any prompting simply because they are so excited to go to school. Ms. Cathy displays love and patience to the children all while helping them reach their full potential at such a young age. Her creative teaching practices are setting the foundation for life long learning excitement. Simply put, Ms. Cathy makes this world a better place! I am grateful that we found her!!!

My children love Miss Cathy's 'Carolina Mountain Montessori' school! At Miss Cathy's school there is no shortage of fun, creativity, laughing, singing, playing, and learning. She is an amazing teacher, and she has two fantastic assistants who are super sweet, nurturing, and hands on with the children with crafts, puzzles, reading, etc. There's a lot of fun outdoor play integrated with outdoor learning. In addition to reading and math, my children learn everything from geography, science, and nature, to music, Spanish, and yoga. Our home is filled with all of their beautiful art creations. Miss Cathy has inspired life-long learning and cultivated their intellectual curiosity. My children teach me new things all the time, e.g. Suriname (S. American country next to Guyana), Narwhals (mammal), Blue Morpho (butterfly), Lambs Wool (plant), etc. My 5 year old was writing book reports by the end of the year; two other 5 year olds were reading at the 4th grade level. Cathy Norman is truly an exceptional teacher who can appropriately take each child to where they can succeed. She adores the children and treats her students like family. Her unconventional personality livens the classroom and her home based school I believe makes the children feel comfortable more quickly. And her outdoor playground is exquisite! I feel so fortunate that my children have had such a solid educational foundation at such an early age. I have seen the difference it has made in my 2nd grader who always credit all her knowledge to Miss Cathy.

Carolina Mountain Montessori has been a great experience for my son and my family. Finding such a wonderful place close to our home in South Fairview was amazing. He was able to initially start in the Summer Camp just a couple days a week at the age of 2½. I felt that this prepared him well for starting preschool the following year at 5 days a week. He is only 3½ now, and already knows all this colors, can count to 40, and is beginning to read 3 letter words. He has also learned about the planets, space, animals, etc. He also LOVES school and all of his teachers and hates to miss a day!

When we moved here from Florida three years ago, we had no idea where to send our daughter for her last year of preschool... well thank goodness good news travels fast! After exploring our options in the area, we discovered that as far as education, our only options were a religious environment or a non-structured daycare-type environment. A friend told us about Miss Cathy's Montessori school. Miss Cathy had over 20 years of experience and a high-standing reputation within the community whenever I inquired about her. I asked my older daughter's Kindergarten teacher if she ever heard of her and her reply was an enthusiastic "Yes!" and she went on to tell me how Miss Cathy's students have a reputation at Fairview Elementary for being a bit ahead of the game than most other children. We went ahead and enrolled our daughter and have been there ever since, almost three years ago. I would also like to mention that our home is filled with the most beautiful pictures and wall art! My daughter brings home things that are unique and just gorgeous. There are field trips, Spanish lessons, music classes and another mom just started doing yoga with the kids! My daughter is also writing her name clearly and she just got accepted to Carolina Day School on her own merits. I can honestly say that I would recommend Carolina Mountain Montessori to anyone. You won't find any better.
